Bump Diary privacy policy

Bump Diary is a private pregnancy diary for you and the people you invite. This page explains what we store, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.
The short version
- No adverts, no tracking, and we never sell your data.
- Your diary is only visible to the people in it.
- Daily check-ins are private unless you choose to share them. Baby-name votes stay hidden until you both like a name.
- You can export everything, or delete your account, from Settings → Privacy in the app.
What we store

Our server runs on DigitalOcean. Daily reminders, supplement reminders, and blood pressure and weight readings (kept in Apple Health) stay on your phone and are never sent to us. Photos you haven't uploaded yet stay on your phone.
Who can see it
Only the people in your diary (up to four people you invite). We don't share your data with anyone else, except the services listed above, which store or process it for us. We only show your data to someone else when the law requires it.
Health information
Pregnancy and symptom details are health data. We only store what you choose to enter, only to show it back to you and the people in your diary. Bump Diary summarises NHS guidance but is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. If you're worried about yourself or your baby, contact your midwife or maternity unit.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. Backups of our database are kept for 14 days, so deleted data disappears from them within two weeks.
Your choices
- Export: Settings → Privacy → Export my diary downloads everything as a file.
- Leave a diary: Settings → Leave this diary. The last person to leave removes it.
- Delete your account: Settings → Privacy → Delete my account. This removes your login, your photos and videos, your reactions, comments, votes and check-ins. People still in your diary keep what they added. If you're the last person in the diary, the whole diary is deleted.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. To do that, email easeup.gh@gmail.com. If you're in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Bump Diary is for adults expecting a baby.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
